Andrew McCoy is a practicing Fine Artist with an interest in Contemporary Queer theory, the abject non-heteronormal cultural experience, and craft-fine art integration in his work as well as an experienced Curator. He calls home Kansas City, MO, but currently resides and works out of Grand Rapids, MI. He began his higher education at the Kansas City Art Institute, and at Kendall College of Art and Design he finished and received his BFA (with honors) in the Fine Arts: Influence in Painting, with a minor in Photography. His work has been shown nationally in the US, as well as in several venues in Michigan. McCoy’s work has been recently recognized with the Gallery Award from the KCAD Painting Department upon graduation and a first place award form the Regional Arts Competition held in the Grand Rapids Art Museum in 2011.
