Le Pont des ARTs a Contemporary Art Gallery In the heart of the historic neibourghood of Suzhou, preserved from modernizations and hasty reconstruction, the Ping Jiang Gallery offers artists an authentic and ideal setting in which to exhibit their work. The aim of the gallery is to make old walls rub elbows with contemporary art, like a dialogue between old and modern. It is a way to place past and present on a parallel level. After 3 years of operation in Suzhou, Le Pont des Arts Gallery has decided to expand its boundaries to Shanghai. The new gallery will open in November 2010 in the new M50 Shanghai Top. Said to be a giant beehive by the journalists of Beaux Arts Magazine (July 2010, page 77), the new location will provide a radically different space with a 7 meters high ceiling. It will enable to showcase much bigger works which is a contrast with the classic and more posh atmosphere of the gallery in Suzhou.
