Asia Fine Art presents BEAUTY REDEFINED by Hu Hai Tao. A new collection of oil paintings by Hu Hai Tao depicting the lasting beauty of Chinese modern women. Timing is everything, or so we are taught. For Hu Hai Tao, his birth date landed in him, in his youth, in the midst of the Cultural Revolution. He was a red guard at school and after graduated from art college was sent to the country to become a peasant for three years. He then returned to the city and became a driver. At this time, the Fine Art School was returning to normal and began to recruit students. Because of his age, he was in the last group to qualify and to be finally accepted by Guangzhou Fine Art School. After graduation, he chose to be an art teacher and artist. Teaching and painting have become his lifestyle. He says “I was like someone who’s digging a well, looking for a water source all the time”. He paints modern day Chinese woman with flair and style, showing how they have leapt into the 21st century. Also, his serious works include superb paintings of Ming and Ching dynasty ladies.
