Shuly Cohen was born in kefar sava, israel to Josef and Nurit cohen.He got his first box of crayons and sketch book at the age of 5 and he paints ever since. From the age of 15 to 19 he studied painting with Baruch Elron (r.i.p) for 4 years and another 4 years with Samuel Rozinas. From them he learned to use the old masters and classical painting techniques and since then he is applying those techniques along with his own special style to a vivid array of character and figures, both realistic and surrealistic.
