Marko Gavrilovic was born in Belgrade in 1975. He studied at the Academy of Applied Arts and Design in Belgrade and received his diploma in 2001. Occupation with drawings and watercolor technique was only an introduction to painting with acrylic paints. In this period he illustrated two books. Interests in light and its connection with design made him to establish Notus Light studio where in the cooperation with his team reproduced more than 150 light-designed pieces during recent years. Furthermore the work in the design did not made him to neglect his passion for painting were he still made extensive progress in drawing and acrylic with Flying Cities series. He received numerous private commissions for lighting design. Gavrilovic participated in great exhibition of 26 Serbian Watercolor Masters celebrating 800 years from the raising of the Serbian monastery in Greece Hilandar(Holly Mountain). In 2006 he expanded his interests in the sculptural works in plastic materials and the same year he also shaped his artistic expression for strong colors and almost futuristic movement through his Bull series.
