My work is made primarily of blown glass and the shapes, colors, and textures I chose are a reflection of my interest in the natural beauty of the material. The colors are often transparent jewel tones and accented with contrasting colors. I enhance the surface of the glass with sand blasting and acid etching techniques to add a design element or texture to the finished piece. The necklace is one in a series of stone and glass pieces that I have been working on using natural stones such as aqua marine, quartz and sterling silver.
